I was just thinking to myself that there are a lot of details which scripture ignores.
Maybe this is simply because these issues were seen to be irrelevant to the message the writers wished to convey.
For example:
1. Where Cain got his wife, or
2. What exactly did happen to Enoch, or
3. Did Adam and Eve have bellybuttons since they where not born.
Yes, people have been speculating about these lacunae or accidental gaps for millenia, but the Bible just does not say.

Forget about; where Cain got his wife, or what exactly did happen to Enoch, or did Adam and Eve have bellybuttons since they where not born … the bible chooses to tell us or show us that the sons of Cain where inventive.
The bible says:
Lamech married two women, one named Adah and the other Zillah. Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who live in tents and raise livestock. His brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all who play the harp and flute. Zillah also had a son, Tubal-Cain, who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron. Tubal-Cain’s sister was Naamah. (Genesis 4:19–22 NIV)
But look at the three sons of Lamech:
1. Jabel: The father of all who live in tents and raise livestock.
2. Jubal: The father of all who play the harp and flute.
3. Tubal-Cain: Who forged all kinds of tools out of bronze and iron.
In those three sons, the writer of Genesis cites the birth of nomadic herding, musical instruments and metallurgy. (Their sister Naamah isn’t credited with anything specific, but the fact that she is mentioned at all in the genealogy is something noteworthy).
And these innovators come from the line of Cain.
The Bible does not mention anyone in the line of Seth building anything interesting until Noah. Maybe, they did and the bible just chose to ignore them. The very first person in the line of seth who the bible record as building something is Noah!
Am not sure why the Scripture says so little about invention and technical innovation of the sons of Seth. Maybe, the writers of Genesis probably omitted mentioning technology because they were trying to outline a history of God’s relation to His People, not a history of invention.
I became a bit concerned when the thought hit me. What if the reason why no invention are mention in the line of the sons of Seth is because they had NONE INVENTED anything until Noah’s ark..!
Of the line of Seth the bible says:
Later, Seth had a son and named him Enosh. About this time people started worshiping the LORD. Genesis 4:26 (Contemporary English Version)
That is the only mention that we have of the lineage of Seth..!
- What if the line of Seth build nothing UNTIL NOAH BUILT THE ARK!
- What if the line of Seth was just so focused on Worshiping God that they failed to build any instruments that would enable them to establish niche leadership and dominion!
I have so many WHAT IF’s, but I just hope that the foundation of holiness was not built on ignoring impacting the earth and just focusing on WORSHIPING GOD. I just hope the early model of worship did not just focus on worship and the assurance of heaven after death!
Is the CHURCH still too focused on WORSHIPING GOD whilst leaving the SECULAR WORLD to invent, create and DOMINATE!
