This month 46% of the world’s population will use social media. This is one of the key points in the most recent Global Digital Snapshot report from We Are Social.


Other key insights include:

93% of Internet users watch online videos and 51% watch vlogs. If you’re not using video content to reach people, you should consider starting.

Facebook has almost as many teen users as Snapchat and Instagram combined.

It is common to hear that teens do not use Facebook anymore and instead use trendier apps like Snapchat, Instagram, etc. 

However, the data does not support that. Of people between 13 and 17 years of age, 113.3 million are on Facebook compared to only 66.9 million and 52.9 million using Snapchat and Instagram, respectively.

The use of voice search and voice commands continue to grow at significant rates.

While internet users above the age of 45 are still reluctant to use voice search technology, younger users are using voice search and voice commands more often. 52% of those age 16-24 and 49% of those age 25-34 have done so in the last 30 days.
