By Oudney Patsika, reflecting on the teachings of Pastor Trevor Ndamuka

As a Business Growth Consultant, I dedicate my work to building High-Performing, Hyper-Profitable Businesses. A profound teaching by Pastor Trevor Ndamuka on the essential needs of a man provides a powerful blueprint for life, leadership, and legacy.

Understanding a man's divine design is key to unlocking his potential.

The Divine Foundation

Adam's life began in the garden, in the very presence of God. This is the starting point for every man. Purpose, identity, and the ability to fulfill one's divine assignment are impossible without a foundational connection to the Creator. It was in God's presence that Adam was taught to name things—an act of conveying meaning and establishing order.

God has given man the assignment to have **dominion**—to rule, govern, and administrate. This is not a suggestion; it is a core part of his spiritual DNA. What a man was born to do is built into his design. A bird doesn't need a seminar on how to fly, and a fish doesn't need a conference on how to swim. However, for a bird to fly, it must be in the air. For a fish to swim, it must be in the water. For a man to exercise dominion, he must be in his correct environment.

The Three Pillars of a Man's World

God created man and put him in the garden to work. Meaningful work is the man's atmosphere—it is his "air" or "water." It is through work that he finds leadership, production, management, and fulfills his dominion mandate. This environment is found in the presence of the Holy Spirit, in the secret place of prayer, in a Spirit-filled church, and in meaningful work.

Where a woman's primary need is often love, a man's is respect. Respect conveys a sense of admiration, value, and honour. This need to be esteemed is built into his nature. Pastor Ndamuka points to 1 Peter 3:6, where Sarah called Abraham "lord," not out of coercion, but out of genuine respect. Wives find it natural to submit to husbands who act in a way that commands this respect, as true submission is a choice, not an obligation.

Intimacy is multifaceted, existing on emotional, intellectual, physical, experiential, and spiritual levels. Within the covenant of marriage, sexual intimacy is unique in its ability to supply elements of all five, creating a powerful sense of belonging and deep connection that is essential for a man's well-being.

The Journey Continues

These first five needs lay the critical foundation for a man's purpose. Understanding and meeting them is the first step toward building a life of impact and legacy. Stay tuned for **Part 2**, where we will explore the remaining nine essential needs that complete this divine blueprint.
