WHY THE DEATH OF CECIL THE LION IS A GLOBAL CRISIS: THE EXTINCTION OF THE REAL MEN: The death of Cecil the Lion is a story that circulated across the whole globe. There has been mixed feelings whether his death can be something that the world has to be talking about especially in Africa where many people are in looming poverty and seem to have more important needs to be addressed. I personally think that the attention that the death of Cecil got is the same kind of attention that should be given to a death of another Lion that has affected the global state of affairs.There is a cry and a fear of the extinction of the wonderful and and powerful of animals and many are concerned that the coming generations will only hear of animals like Cecil as tales just as there are tales of dinosaurs if they ever existed. The death of Cecil is not the first of its kind.
Over the years people have not taken notice of the death of the Cecil of Manhood in all society. Where is the world headed to in a world which seems to becoming more feminist as the killing of Cecil has been happening daily while everyone watched in the emasculation of society? Emasculation literally means depriving or removing the strength of something and in this case it's removing the strength of the masculine (male) strength and influence in society.
What am I talking about you might be wondering? Over 2 millenniums ago a Hebraic prophet talked of this crisis of an emasculate or effeminate society. He said in his words,
[5] Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: [6] And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.… Malachi 4:5-6 KJV
The prophet was talking of a scenario when Cecil the Lion of Fatherhood was distanced from the children that resulted in a weakened generation inevitably resulting in disastrous lifestyles that would attract judgement from the Creator. This is true to the time we are living in when we look at the statistics. Statistics show that about 70% of people in juvenile prisons were raised either by a single mother or other guardians with the fathers not being there and 90% of gays and lesbians in the world being of the same plight of being raised without a Father around. From this understanding the death of Cecil the Lion of Manhood should be an issue of global concern to policy makers and all concerned stakeholders. Most of leaders in society, if a survey is to be taken did not have their fathers around in their upbringing, if they were in the home they did not have time for them. Where is the world headed to as a result?
We are living in a world were women do not see anything wrong in receiving seed to have a child and live without the father and where boys and man want the pleasure of sex but not the responsibility that comes with it. Man make them babies and expect, schools and churches to raise them for them not knowing that in the telegraphic generation the screen will do it and they are not there to see what the screen of the phone, iPad, laptop, T.V or big screen is showing them. The death of Cecil the Lion of Manhood is truly an issue of global concern and if we could give more attention to that death we are guaranteed that the world would be a better place.
Since we have began with the story of Cecil a real Lion lets close with a true story of elephants and rhinos in Africa. There was a time in a certain game park where they noticed that the number of male rhinoceros was declining. They took time to understand what the cause was and noticed that the changes had nothing to do with the rhinos. Someone had made a decision to isolate old bull elephants in the game park. As a result the young bull elephants could no longer be controlled and were now attacking the male rhinos in the tamed jungle. Noticing this they put back the old bull elephants in the society and order was restored. This is reflective of 21Century society and that we should not focus on Cecil the Lion but on Chibaba the Bull Elephant as well. When the Old men (bull elephants) are away from the raising of teenage boys (young bull elephants), the teenage boys go out and make babies running away from responsibility and commuting all sorts of crime and become a generation of old irresponsible fathers until there is no one to model what Manhood really is. If there is no intervention what does the future hold.
