A bereaved Harare woman was robbed of a bag stashed with $390 given to her as condolence money. Yeukai Makaza who was still mourning the death of her husband fell victim to Felix Mushonga.
According to H-Metro Mushonga denied the theft allegations saying it was a case of mistaken identity.
"Your worship, I did not rob these complainants, they are mistaking me for someone else. I think they got robbed by my look-alike" he told magistrate Stanford Mambanje.
Makaza aged 26 told the court that when she was robbed, Mushonga took away all the cash she had.
"Mushomga is evil; he took the condolence money that I was given at my husband's funeral"
"He did a shameful act to steal from a widow, he is going to suffer for the rest of his life," vowed Makaza.
Mushonga is also accused of stealing a handbag containing $1390 belonging to Kesia Chitete.
