Jacob White was arrested on July 17 and charged with third-degree sexual abuse after the 11-year-old turned up pregnant and after her parents read Facebook conversations between the girl and White.

According to witnesses who lived in the home, White slept in the same bed with the victim. They said they addressed it with Durant who did nothing to stop it. According to the police report, the girl was heard telling her mother, “I tried to tell you several times,” during a doctor’s appointment.
Because she failed to notify law enforcement, call the Department of Human Services or taking any action herself, Durant was charged with child endangerment. She’s since been released and will be back in court on Sept.9.
White is also out of jail and a court appearance has not been scheduled for his case. My guess is prosecutors are wanting a slam-dunk case against him and are waiting to do a DNA test on the kid’s kid.
One of Durant’s neighbors said he’s not surprised at the charges. “No. Nothing surprises me anymore,” he said, “Just too much stuff goes on over there. People go in and out. You never know who’s going and coming any time day or night.”
