Bridal Gala comes alive

It’s confirmed!!! All roads tomorrow lead to the Sunday Mail Bridal gala at the giant Harare International Conference Centre (HICC). The show which is meant to celebrate the bride and grooms of the month will see a number of activities lined up for the event.

Among the top cream include musicians such as award winning musician Jah Prayzah, Sulumani Chimbetu, gospel choral group Zimpraise and dancing group Banyana Bafana.

Speaking to The Herald Entertainment, Zimpapers business manager (promotions) Charity Gwata-Chirume said this year is bigger and better.

“All is going according to plan and this year is bigger and better. Due to the fact that previous years the bridal gala was being held at the 7Arts Theatre in Avondale, we moved to HICC the bigger venue,” she said.

She said a lot of sponsors this year had chipped in and was happy how public are responding. “Bridal show is here to stay and we are pleased with how the nation is supporting. The bridal expo will be conducted for two days with the grand finale being Saturday night were we crown our bride of the year,” she said.

She said lucky fans will win a free wedding.

“There is going to be a draw where one ticket holder will win a free wedding courtesy of our sponsors. The package includes free cake, free gown and venue among other things,” she said.

Gwata-Chirume said the expo will be a one door step for those planning their wedding.


“Everything will be under one roof, if you want deco, cakes, gowns, suits, flowers and dresses, you know where to come,” she said.

However she highlighted that some of the sponsors and exhibitors will be live on Star FM showcasing their wares.

“There is going to be a fashion show later that night hosted by Bride and Dams.

Tickets were being sold at Star FM, the Zimpapers stand at the Exhibition Park, Rowan Martin, Herald House and Jan Jam Fashions store.

Zimpapers business manager (promotions) Charity Gwata-Chirume said the expo is for two days and free public and one stop for wedders but on Saturday we will crown the wedding we moved the venue to hicc for small.

On entertainment note dendera crooner Suluman “Sulu” Chimbetu will battle some of his tunes including some songs from his latest fifth album which is set for release this April.

NAMA multiple award winner Jah Prayzah, who is now a regular at such show is billed to perform also. According to some sources, The “Tsviriyo” hit-maker said his award-winning team has created an amazing choreography that is set to leave music fans at the bridal gala spellbound on the night and at many other shows to follow.

“Every new album comes with new dance routines and other additives – at the bridal gala we will be unleashing them all. My team is raring to go. Sometimes they even surprise me because I rate myself as one of the most inspired and hard-working artistes, but these artistes I work with are something else,” said Jah Prayzah, real name Mukudzei Mukombe.

Gospel side, Zimpraise – famous choral group will add the holy side especially on wedding theme of which is expected.

Not to be left out is marriage counsellor Mai Gunguwo who is expected to add the icing on the cake with a 10-minute counselling session.
