During those years, Bishop Bismark, a Grade 7 dropout, gave himself to a rigorous daily discipline of **8 hours of prayer** and countless more to self-education, famously reading the English Dictionary every day to expand his vocabulary.
For over 12 years, the Bismark family walked a considerable distance to church services. Bishop has often testified, "It didn't seem like life was working." Yet, he clung to his God and refused to compromise.
