Nigerian televangelist Timothy Omotoso and his co-accused have now exhausted all attempts to appeal an earlier judgment that ordered their case could be heard in the Port Elizabeth High Court.
Alleged sex-pest Nigerian pastor Timothy Omotoso and his two co-accused have lost their bid in the Constitutional Court to appeal against an earlier judgment that ordered the Port Elizabeth High Court could preside over the almost 100 charges they are on trial for.
The Constitutional Court dismissed their application for leave to appeal the matter on Monday 6 January. The case will continue on 28 January in the Port Elizabeth High Court.

Omotoso’s lawyer, Peter Daubermann, had argued that the court did not have the authority to hear the entire matter as some of the alleged offences took place outside Port Elizabeth, including abroad.
“The application for leave to appeal is dismissed on the grounds that there are no reasonable prospects of success and there are no other compelling reasons why an appeal should be heard,” the SCA judgment read.
