The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no room to store my crops?’ So he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Luke 12:16-21
The Purpose Of Wealth: I believe God has prepared a great capacity for every person on this planet.
We each have a purpose on this earth.
We also have resources and money out there that God has readied for us. He has a treasure chest of divine connections for each one of us, and the Bible makes it clear that God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34).
He will do for one what He will do for another.
“I was put on earth to get rich, to collect the money that already had my name on it, and then give it all away.”
Everything, however, hinges on the last part of this quote: “And then give it all away.”
It is not about heaping wealth upon ourselves, right? It’s not just about us having barns.
In Luke 12, we see that it is okay for us to have some barns, but God also looks into how we use the wealth that we have amassed.
God wants us to have resources; He wants us to be blessed. Yet, he wants us to use this wealth correctly!
The idea is that we are blessed so that we can be a blessing. (Genesis 12:2)
