The Currency of Trust: Why Consistency Will Take You Further Than Talent Ever Can
Insight By: Oudney Patsika | Topic: Leadership, Character & Legacy
We all know them—people who show up only when it benefits them, but disappear the moment responsibility calls. Nothing destroys trust faster than inconsistency. Whether in business, relationships, or ministry, talent may open the door, but only consistency keeps it open.
The Plague of Inconsistency
We all know them. The people who nag and complain when they need something, but vanish when you need support. Inconsistency is inherently "sketchy." It causes people to question your motives and believe you have an alternative agenda. This applies to personal relationships, business deals, and ministry service.
"Consistency is as important as correctness. You cannot be right if you are not reliable."
Become The Gift
I understand that I was gifted for a reason in this season. But knowing you have a gift is not enough; you must become the gift.
I consistently remind myself to be available—if not physically, then mentally—DAILY. When asked to complete a task, I work at it as if my very life depends on it. Work on being dependable. Be a man of your word and your action.
A Decade of Service (The Proof)
I have consistently served under the Apostolic Leadership of Apostle Pride Sibiya and Glory Ministries for the past 10 years. Hatisi kuita kuti tionekwe—even Hakusi kuonererwa (We do not do this to be seen, nor is it for show).
For a decade, I have focused on being reliable. Always asking to serve. Showing up every moment and every time it counts, more than 85% of the time. The 15% when I failed, it was because I allowed naysayers to get to my heart. But that stops now.
The Future (2018–2028)
I am more determined and focused on being consistently good and available. I want those I serve to relax, close their eyes, and sleep, whispering, "Thank God for Oudney N. Patsika!"
Looking forward to the next decade of service (2018–2028). By then, my children, Ordain Atipa and Oudney Jnr. Awana, will be growing up watching a father who stood firm. To all the naysayers—I want to say: close your mouth and serve Shamwari.
