Women to Gather for Africa's Cause at Council of African Apostles Convention
Women from across the continent are expected to convene for a special session at this year's Council of African Apostles (CAA) in Harare. The high-profile gathering of Africa's apostolic voices, chaired by Bishop Tudor Bismark, will run under the theme "Expand" and address critical issues facing the continent.
Special Women's Meeting
A dedicated meeting for women is scheduled for Saturday morning and will be led by Pastor Chichi Bismark. This session is expected to bring together influential women from the wide spectrum of the continental body to discuss their role in shaping Africa's future from a faith-based perspective.
Council of African Apostles Agenda
The CAA is a pivotal gathering where Africa's apostolic leaders discuss pressing issues affecting the continent and seek to provide faith-based solutions. Topping this year's agenda are critical discussions on Africa’s financial, political, and spiritual future.
Under the theme "Expand," the council will explore strategic ways to increase the church's positive influence on government policies, social issues, and private sector practices. The agenda also includes promoting infrastructural development and assisting with intellectual property and innovation across the continent.
Vision and Mission
A statement from the CAA secretariat emphasized the council's core mission: "It is essential that we place as front and centre Jesus Christ in all of life on the continent if we are to be effective." The council aims to keep the church principled and Christ-centered while being actively aware of the world's economic, social, and political realities.
Since 2014, the CAA has adopted Africa Day as a day of unity, where all member churches across the continent preach the same foundational message. This initiative is a "bold statement" designed to return focus to the core, non-negotiable fundamentals of the Christian faith and empower every believer to be an agent of change in their environment.
Expected Delegates
Several high-profile executive members of the council are expected to be in attendance, including:
- Dr. Mensa Otabil (Ghana)
- Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams (Ghana)
- Bishop Enock Sitima (Botswana)
- Bishop Mike Okonkwo (Nigeria)
