Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Shuvai Mahofa stunned thousands of people who braved the chilly weather to celebrate Independence Day in Mucheke Stadium on Saturday when she struggled to read President Robert Mugabe’s official Uhuru speech which was prepared in English.

The speech is read concurrently by all Provincial Affairs minister throughout the country with Mugabe reading his at the main celebration venue in Harare.

Several people said they failed to closely follow her address as most of the words were wrongly pronounced with some sentences disjointed.

People said Mahofa needs serious coaching when it comes to addressing people in English with some questioning her educational qualifications.
