The parents of murdered Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates soccer star Senzo Meyiwa claim that they know who killed their son.
However, they are refusing to divulge the identity of the alleged killer. "If I were to give you the name of the killer, I would be arrested," his mother Ntombifuthi Meyiwa said in an interview with Drum magazine.
The parents told the magazine that a scuffle had broken out and that Meyiwa was killed by accident.
They claim an eyewitness informed police of this version of events, but officers are still investigating.
Meyiwa's girlfriend Kelly Khumalo claimed just after the shooting that Meyiwa had died protecting her from armed robbers inside her childhood home.
