Speaking about his dismissal, he said: “Yes, I’ve accepted the dismissal from Metro FM. I’m grateful for what the station did for me.”
DJ Sbu said although he might be gone from the station, offers have been knocking at his door.
He said he has rejected them because he wants to be under the SABC umbrella.

He also spoke to Sunday Sun about last week’s controversial fake Forbes magazine cover. Sbu said he has sorted things out with the Forbes Africa magazine.
“It’s just that there are some people who want me to fail,” he told the SunTeam.
He said he had attended a meeting to enquire about registering his energy drink Mofaya at the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS).
DJ Sbu said: “You can’t imagine what some people are trying to do. They want to see my energy drink fail to get recognition in the market.
“I’m being investigated for anything I’ve associated myself with in the past, such as Nike and Unicef.
“If I hadn’t gone to the SABS, I wouldn’t have found out that certain people have been harassing the staff members in connection with my energy drink – and asking whether it’s registered with SABS or not.”
The dismissed DJ went on to say: “I’ve just found out that no energy drink in the country is actually registered with the SABS.
“The energy drink industry is a new market for the SABS, which is going ahead to register such drinks in the future.”
