A sex starved Marondera man from Mahusekwa area, Amos Majoni, was this month convicted and sentenced to perform 150 hours of community service by a Marondera magistrate after he stole two cartons of condoms.
Majoni, 42, told Marondera magistrate Shayne Kubonera, that he stole the two cartons of condoms as he wanted to be intimate with a commercial sex worker in the area as and did not want to have unprotected sex.

However, Kubonera, convicting Majoni said that the accused did not commit the offence to protect himself, but to deprive the owner of the business where he stole the condoms from and cause him to record some lose in his business.

Representing the state, Marvelous Muchacha told the court that on the night of 1 October this year, Majoni forcibly opened the window of Mapfumo Store at Mukumba business centre in Mahusekwa and stole two cartons of condoms. Nothing else was stolen.

However, Majoni’s luck ran out the next morning when Noel Silenje, the shopkeeper spotted him walking at the business centre carrying one packet of the missing condoms, leading to his arrest.

Majoni pleaded guilty to the offence.
