More than 1 000 people from all walks of life yesterday thronged Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton to witness the wedding of sungura musician Alick Macheso’s daughter Sharon, who tied the knot with her long-time beau, Kudakwashe Munetsi.
The two wedded at a colourful ceremony that drew more than 600 invited guests and almost 400 gatecrashers.
Many people gathered at St Francis Roman Catholic Church in Waterfalls where the two exchanged vows before travelling to Norton for the reception.
The red carpet affair was complemented by the black and red attire matching the classy decoration courtesy of Daisy Mtukudzi.

“I would like to thank everyone for coming out here to support my daughter’s wedding and for the newly-weds, I bless you with a house in Chitungwiza,” he said. “My gratitude also goes to my mother for giving birth to me and so I give Sharon to Kuda.”
Macheso joked about how he once came close to assaulting his son-in-law, unaware that his relationship with his daughter would culminate in marriage.
Zimbabwe Red Cross Society secretary-general Mr Maxwell Phiri said he was happy that their ambassador’s daughter had set an example for others.
Close relatives took the opportunity to bless the newly-weds, advising them on how they should love each other and maintain their marriage.
Musicians Suluman Chimbetu and Mudiwa Mutandwa performed at the wedding which lasted till late and also drew some Governmental officials.
Sharon customarily married South Africa-based Kudakwashe in February.
