Legends Habits: Sow An Act And Reap A Habit.

As we draw closer to Tiyambuke International Christian Convention (TICC) to be hosted by Glory Ministries, I find it very valuable and important for us to sit down and assess our lives where our habits and actions are concerned. I think one of the greatest reason why we fail to leave a footprint on earth is because we have no idea how to develop habit that set us up for greatness. One journey towards being 'Legends' in time to come is just 'Habits' away. Read this article and start developing 'The Habits Of True Legends.'

What influence your habits?
Your habits are very important as they determine the quality of your life. They are greatly influenced by:

Your environment and your friends-companions.
Your friends help you form good or bad habits. Your mind is regularly drawing its thinking material from your surroundings.

What you see, hear, touch affect your entire life just as the air in your room affect your well-being. Hence both your environment and friends influence your action, and exercise controls over your opinions.
They therefore, influence the force of your habits.
If you want to form a good habit, it is very important to select your environment and friends with great caution.

What is the relationship between habit and character?
Habits are the result of our actions (the things that we do as we take them from our personalities, be it weaknesses or strengths.) Characters is the sum total of our habits. Habit is the force behind your character. Success or failure in life is depends on your habits hence on your character. If you want a lasting success you must develop good habits so as to build a good dependable character. Your habit is the foundation of your character. Good habits produce good character and bad habits evil or bad character. If you want to improve yourself, you must learn to control your habits.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things… Matthew12:35
Habits are easy to learn
Habit by definition is action carried out without you thinking through. The moment you start to think before you act, you put every action under your will. You think, decide before you act. Your actions are done consciously and no more habitually. Therefore, as you think and decide consciously, you break its natural tendency and put the habit under your control.

How to form New Habits

1. Sow an act and reap a habit
It is like planting a seed in the soil. You are sure when you sow an act; you are going to reap a habit.

Mark4.4,8"And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed … [the seed] fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."

2. The power of repetition

There is a central point in the process to form new habit. It is something that controls the process. It is what helps you to form new habit. It fixes the new habit and makes it permanent. The thing is the power of Repetition. At the right season, a farmer plants his seed into the soil. This is what brings him the fruits in the future at harvest. You need to plant the right seed so as to develop the right habit.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7
When you want to form new habit, your goal is to communicate with your subconscious mind. This is your habit mind. God told Joshua how to go about the process to form new habit. God even gave him the methods to use:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, which you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8 8
