Zim student in the UK rakes up impressive 8A’s for her GCSE

Sixteen-year-old Fadzai Ramwi, originally from Zimbabwe, is the toast of Baylis Court School in Slough after racking up an impressive 8A’s and 1B for her GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) – (O’ Levels).

Two of her A’s were A* (A-star).

The ambitious teenager, the daughter of devout Christians Abigail and Kanisio Ramwi, says she wants to become a barrister after studying at either Oxford or Cambridge University.

In an interview with the Slough Observer newspaper Fadzai said;

“I’m really pleased with my results, and I didn’t expect to get them. I’ve had to do a lot of work and revision for this, and now I can finally relax after getting my results.”


According to the report Baylis Court School achieved a 77% pass rate for 5A-Cs, and a 68% success rate of 5A-Cs including maths and English.

The head teacher Deborah Ajose praised staff at school saying;

“All of our staff are dedicated to continuous improvement. We are always striving to do the very best for every girl at Baylis Court School. Our students’ grades prove that our girls can become the women of tomorrow.”
