Man As Prophet, Priest and King By Apostle Pride Sibiya

Genesis 1:26 And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

Exodus 3:1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

God’s initial intent for a man was for him to have dominion over the earth and all its creation. But when Adam sinned – he ceded all his authority to the devil. It is Christ’s death and resurrection that restored us back to our rightful place of authority.

Many of us as men … grew up with the wrong kind and model of fatherhood. The failure of our fathers to lead by example as men and fathers; and show their sons the way is one of the reasons why our communities are filled with robbers … rapists … thieves etc. When God introduced himself … he introduced himself as the God of the father ... Through this we see that God works through fathers.

Exodus 3: 6 Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

It is important for us to understand fatherhood ... and in the role of father ... a man must understand that there ar three important capacities in which he must function ... George Whitfield says, “A man ought to look upon himself as obliged to act in three capacities: as a prophet, to instruct; as a priest, to pray for and with; as a king, to govern, direct, and provide.”

If men are to model their lives after Jesus, then we must understand and pursue a correct, biblical, Holy Spirit-empowered filling of the roles of prophet, priest and king. – transcript for his glory conference.
