You Are Made By What You Make.

One of the most overlooked fundamentals of life is a power that is in every human being. Destinies, outcomes and fate all hang on to this less considered yet important gift. Many do not take time to acknowledge this virtue yet we need it every second of our lives. I have taken long to introduce this unavoidable key because everyone relates to it. Decision is the name of this power and some call it choice while others call it volition.

Who and where we are is just the summation of the decisions we have made and the quality of our lives is directly proportional to the quality of our choices. One of the keys to any kind of lifestyle you desire is your choice and the popular book quotes God as having said, “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore choose life . . . .”[Deuteronomy 30: 19]. Decision making is like a muscle, everybody has the capacity to make good ones but capacity is only of benefit when exploited. Capacity is realised and exploited when the part that carries it is given responsibilities. Many face challenges in making quality decisions because they have gotten used to backing off when choices are called for but the more you make good ones the better you become.

The quality of our decisions can never be separated from the information and knowledge we have acquired, the best of which is from the maker Himself. Your choice reveals how informed one is in the area under consideration. The quality of our decisions is a measure of our values and our values get their being and place from the measure of their “pay offs”, what we understand as their reward to us. Many would complain of where they have found themselves at before they have chosen, but Jesus came with a kingdom which can transform our lives. You can choose your way out of any situation.

The Messianic lineage is full of people who did not have a cut or edge above others in terms of morality and other virtues esteemed by man’s standards but were distinguished by the quality of their decisions, Abraham, Jacob, Ruth and Solomon to mention but just a few. One has said, “If you take too long a time to decide you have already decided” and in addition I say, “if you do not have the guts to make your decisions, then others or the system of this world will do it for you, if they have not already done so.”
