A 35-YEAR-OLD man ogled at his daughter, aged 15, as she took a bath before going on to rape her, a Masvingo court heard last week.
The man (name withheld to protect the teenaged daughter) of Tovani School in Zaka District was convicted on his own plea of guilty when he appeared before Masvingo magistrate Oliver Mudzongachiso facing rape charges .
He was remanded in custody to 1 June 2015 for sentencing.
Prosecutor Nancy Makuvise told the court that on May 16 this year, at around 11am, the girl was bathing unaware that her father was peeping through the bathroom door.
After the bath, father then followed the girl to her bedroom where he fondled her breasts, telling her she had the most beautiful body he had ever seen in his lifetime.
The court heard that the father then pulled the teenager to the bed, pinned her down and raped her once.
According to the prosecutor, the girl screamed for help but no one came to her rescue.
After the attack the girl was told not tell anyone but she quickly rushed to her grandmother’s homestead were she narrated her ordeal.
A report was made leading to the arrest of the father.
