'You will realise that when your husband dies, life will be tough,’ says Doctor Grace Mugabe

Ever rambunctious and bubbly since her grand entrance into Zimbabwe’s already stormy Political Landscape, Dr Grace Mugabe has criticised her opponents and spoke about life after the death of the President during her speech at the City Sports Centre in Harare this afternoon.

Minister of Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development, Oppah Muchinguri introduced Grace Mugabe as the “Queen mother, Queen of all Queens.”

She also said the late Sally Mugabe used to lead the Women’s League and provided for everyone, be it widows, orphans, youth and the disabled. As such hopes are being pinned on Grace Mugabe who has done a lot through her philanthropic work.

Grace Mugabe, in her speech said, the spirit of forgiveness should be amongst the people and said she forgives Shadreck Mashayamombe who had reportedly said she should find a place in Mashonaland West as she was not from Harare.

She also spoke about the lack of services in Harare saying, “We, including myself, are responsible for the dirt in Harare.”

“People in Harare are angry because they are not getting service delivery. We don not have water at our house and we had to drill a borehole.”

Claiming that her family faces the same problems as everybody else, Grace said, “People in Harare are angry because they are not getting service delivery. We do not have water at our house and we had to drill a borehole.”

“Sanctions are hurting us, we are also in business and our products are not selling.”

During her speech, Grace also said she started her own business because she was tired of staying at the State House.

“As as woman you need to do your own things, unozoona kuti kana murume afa hupenyu hunooma (You will realise that when your husband dies, life will be tough).”
